CELEBRATION OF SHIKSHA SAPTAH (July 22-28, 2024)

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, is celebrating "Shiksha Saptah" from July 22-28, 2024, commemorating the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. On the occasion of Shiksha Saptah celebration the following activities were conducted at VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA, PORT BLAIR from 22nd July to 28th July 2024.

Day 1: Teaching-Learning Material (TLM) Day
Students from Class III to XII participated in storytelling, hand painting, chart making, slogan writing, and wall magazine creation. A total of 900 students and 26 teachers were involved.








For Balvatika I to Class II, activities included storytelling, learning about festivals, shapes, occupations, and number recognition, engaging 295 students.









Day 3: Sports Day
Emphasizing the importance of sports and fitness, various indigenous games like Poasham Pa, Gilli danda, Kanche/Marble, and Langdi were played, with 929 students and 50 teachers participating.









Activities aimed at promoting unity and diversity included songs on garbage and tree conservation, devotional songs, folk dances, and mono acts. A total of 931 students and 50 teachers took part.











Activities such as gardening, clay modeling, cleanliness drives, role play, elocution, and debate were conducted, involving 927 students and 50 teachers.










A plantation drive under the #Plant4Mother initiative was held, promoting environmental awareness. 126 students and 15 teachers participated.









Tithi Bhojan was organized for the parents of primary class students, with 44 parents and 7 students participated, fostering community involvement and building.

The week-long celebration effectively combined education, culture, and community engagement, enhancing both student learning and community connection."
