INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram celebrated the 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025, with great enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Sergeant Manoj Kumar Prabha (Retd.), Indian Air Force.

  









The day began with a Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) at 6:20 AM, where students from classes 6 to 12 participated actively, holding national flags and raising patriotic slogans like "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram." Although unexpected rain prevented Balvatika and primary students from participating in the Prabhat Pheri, the event successfully spread the message of unity and patriotism.


 

The main program commenced with flag hoisting, followed by the National Anthem, where students saluted the flag and took the pledge. Students from secondary section beautifully rendered the National Song and Flag Song. Four students- two from Balvatika,  one from Primary and one from Secondary delivered inspiring speeches in Hindi and English. Students from Primary, Middle and secondary sections presented captivating patriotic songs.

 


Smt. Surya, a teacher at VKV, delivered a speech about the significance of the day and the responsibility that comes with freedom. The Principal highlighted the importance of honoring the legacy of freedom fighters by serving the nation with dedication and fostering patriotism. The Chief Guest also delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the significance of being a responsible citizen in whichever field one chooses.
The event concluded with the Shanti Mantra, leaving everyone inspired to serve the nation. Sweets were distributed among the students. A total of 650 students, 25 parents, and 59 teaching and non-teaching staff were present to grace the occasion.
