SWAMI VIVEKANANDA JAYANTI AND NATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATION

Vivekananda kendra vidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram celebrated 163rd Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and National Youth Day with great enthusiasm and reverence at our school premises and at the Dr. Bheem Rao Ambedkar Auditorium, Sri Vijaya Puram. Morning Programme (School Premises) 

In the morning, the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in the school premises. Shri Ashish Shekar , Panchayat Secretary, Sippiggat (an ex-student of the school, Batch 2000), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekananda and offered flowers as a mark of tribute and respect.

On this occasion, Ms Varalaxmi, teacher, highlighted the importance and significance of the day. In his address, the Chief Guest expressed his sincere gratitude to the teachers and encouraged the students to follow the teachings and messages of Swami Vivekananda. He also motivated the students to be confident, disciplined, responsible, and dedicated towards their goals.

Evening Programme (Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium, Sri Vijaya Puram) 

In the evening, the 163rd Swami Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration was held at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium, Sri Vijaya Puram. The programme began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by Mangla Charan and welcome address by Principal.
The Chief Guest for the programme was Ms Jagtap Kalyani Rajendra (DANICS), Director, FISHERIES and OSD to the Chief Secretary while Guest of Honour was Dr. Aparup Das, Director, ICMR. 

Dr. Aparup Das, Guest of Honour, highlighted the significance of the day and advised the students to follow the teachings and ideals of Swami Vivekananda. He also explained how Swami Vivekananda delivered his inspiring speech at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago, which motivated the youth to be disciplined, responsible, and confident.

The Chief Guest, in her address, emphasized the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in today’s world. She inspired the students to work hard, remain disciplined, and contribute positively to society. She also spoke about the values of determination, self-confidence, and service to society and the nation, as preached by Swami Vivekananda.
Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati Maharaj Ji was the Special Guest who graced the occasion.
The celebration included various colourful and vibrant cultural performances comprised of a vibrant invocation dance, 
patriotic dance by Balvatika students, a skit on sister Nivedita performed by students of Classes VI to VIII, 
Two songs-based on Swami Vivekananda and a patriotic song by Classes VI to VIII, 
A folk dance on Kalbeliya (a tribe of Rajasthan) performed by Primary students(class IV & V) and a vibrant group dance on Hanuman Chalisa performed by students from Primary to Senior Secondary.
Altogether, more than 200 students actively participated in the cultural programmes.
Later, the vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice Principal and the programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra.
A total of 68 teaching and non-teaching staff were present. More than 350 students and around 400 parents attended the programme and graced the occasion, making the celebration grand, meaningful, and memorable.

GEETA JAYANTI

Gita Jayanti was celebrated in VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA (SRI VIJAYA PURAM) on 1st December 2025 with great devotion, enthusiasm, and cultural spirit. The programme aimed to highlight the timeless teachings of the Sreemad Bhagavad Geeta and to inspire students to follow its message of righteousness, duty, and self-discipline.

The event began with Aikya Mantra, followed by a brief introduction on the significance of Geeta Jayanti. Students from Classes VI to XII participated in various activities such as shloka recitation, Geeta chanting and speech presentations based on the episodes from the Mahabharat.

A special highlight of the celebration was the Geeta Chanting Session, where students recited verses from different chapters with proper pronunciation and understanding. Geeta chanting, the 12 chapter, was performed by K.Srinidhi of Class V and Palak Biswas of Class - VII chanted Karmayoga  Shloka Samgraha. Dhruv, a student of Class - VIII, explained the life story of Lord Krishna in the form of an exhibit. A speech was also presented by Shri Shiv Kumar Dwivedi in the morning assembly highlighting the importance of the day and explaining the core teachings of the Gita, such as the importance of karma (duty), discipline, and maintaining balance in life.

The chief guest was Mananeeya Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj. He addressed the gathering, appreciating the students’ active participation and encouraging them to imbibe the moral values taught in the Geeta. Shri Tushar Juvekar, Head of Chote Scientist, KPIT, Pune, Maharashtra also graced this special occasion by his presence. The celebration concluded with the distribution of certificates to the winners of the competitions. Overall, the Geeta Jayanti celebration was an enriching and inspiring experience that helped students understand the spiritual and philosophical essence of the Bhagavad Gita.
