SADHANA DIWAS

Sadhana diwas observed in VKV Port Blair 19 th November 2022

Sadhana Diwas was observed in VKV Port Blair on 19th November in the school Assembly hall. To mark the significance of the  celebration a month-long Inter house Bulletin Board presentation competition was organized in the school for the students on the topic ' The Man with Capital M'. The topic was announced at the end of October month. students of each house prepared articles enthusiastically and made their bulletin Boards ready on the day of the celebration.

On November 19 the morning of the portraits of, Swami Vivekananda and Man. Eknath Ranade we're beautifully decorated with flowers. The lamps were lit and kept. Dr(smt) Archana Gupta Vice Principal, teachers, and students offered floral tributes.
The program was scheduled in two spells. The first spell of the program commenced at 8. 45 a.m in the morning. Students from classes 8-12 assembled in the hall. of the school, The program commenced with Mangalacharan. Nandini Verma of VIII A and Shreya Lall of class IX spoke on the significance of the day. Students of the Senior Secondary section presented melodious songs highlighting the greatness of. Man. Eknath Ji.
Smt Ramalakshmi, a teacher at the school elaborated on his life and the challenges he witnessed in the making of Vivekananda rock and Vivekananda Kendra. She insisted students to follow the principles of Swami Vivekananda and Man. Eknathji to accomplish the goal of Kendra and the dream of Swami Vivekananda
240 students and 15 teachers attended the program
The second spell of the program was scheduled fromf10.-11 a.m.for class 3-7 students.  300 students and 15 teachers attended the program. The program ended with the Shanti mantra. All the students and teachers cherished the program. Students rendered their tribute to Man. Eknathji by remembering his relentless service to Swami Vivekananda and our nation.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri jayanthi was celebrated in our Vidyalaya on 2nd October, 2022. The programme started with Mangalacharan. Radhika Kumari of class VIIIth and VIth recited "Ram Dhun" bhajan and "Vaishnav janto" to pay tribute to Gandhiji. Smti K Braghateeswari, PGT English given a speech about the significance of the day. She also urged students to follow the footsteps of the legends and to be self-reliant like them. Altogether 203 students, 64 teaching and non-teaching staff members attended the programme. The programme end with National Anthem.

Teacher's Day Celebration

Teacher’s Day is celebrated in India every year on the 5th of September to pay tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of the country and a visionary educator. This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair. The hall was beautifully decorated in the morning by the students of class12.  The students and the teachers assembled in the hall to witness the program. They were welcomed by the students at the entrance. All the other students of higher secondary classes were allotted classes in the middle and Primary sections to teach. The students were anxious to get to know their timetable and the lessons allotted for them to teach. They were guided by the teachers to handle the class. with much excitement, students went to their allotted classes as teachers. They were extremely happy to teach in the allotted classes. 

While in the Assembly hall the program commenced with Mangalacharan. The significance day was highlighted by s. Varalaxmi, teacher of V.K.V. class 12th students paid tribute to their teachers by singing Guru Vandana very melodiously. Anuishri Mondal of class 12A spoke on the inherent qualities of successful teachers which bring glory to students' lives. Shreya Chand of class12 B through her speech thanked all the teachers who had been the stepping stone to elevate their life. Shri S . Vijaya Kumar the principal of the school, in his presidential address extended his teacher's day greetings to the teachers and urged teachers to gear up to raise themselves to the need of the time and to serve to the best of their ability.  He stressed that the acquired knowledge through 'vidya' must be utilized to serve society and the needy rather than possessing arrogance and 'ahankar'- pride which destroys anyone's life. He insisted Students learn to respect their mother, father, and guru to have glory in their life.

National Sports Day celebration

The National Sports Day (Rashtriya Khel Divas) is annually celebrated on 29th August across India to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. The National Sports Day was held in the school on 30th August. The importance of celebrating the day was highlighted in the morning assembly. A friendly football match was organized between 10th and 12th students. The 10th, 11th,  12th students, and teachers, were the spectators of the program.  The afternoon session classes were terminated for the students and the match was held. The students and the players assembled on the ground, The match was flagged off by the Vice principal of the school. With 3 goals the 10th students won the match. The winners and runners were awarded medals. The winner's cup was awarded to the students of 10th. Students cherished the match and it was a grand show for the spectators.

Ganesh Chaturthi celebration

Ganesh Chaturthi, the birthday of Lord Ganesha is being celebrated with pomp & gaiety in the school on 31St August 2022. The temple and the idol of Lord Ganesh in the temple were beautifully decorated. A good number of devotees, teachers, and students participated in the puja rituals. All the devotees, teachers, and students prayed to Lord Ganesh for blessings and to fill the life of the people in the entire world with good health, happiness, and virtue. The whole place reverberated with the mesmerizing bhajans and shlokas. After the pooja, prasad was distributed to all the devotees.

Traffic Awareness Programme


Traffic Awareness Programme was conducted at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Bair on 26th August 2022
The awareness programme was conducted in the school Assembly hall, About  100 students and 7 teachers attended the program. Shri. Mithun Kirtania, Sub Inspector ( Traffic), A&N Police Department headed the programme.  Shri Mithun Kirtania along with Sub Inspector Shiva Kumar taught Students about the traffic signals and the meaning of the different signals of the traffic inspectors. The penalties for violating the traffic rules were explained to the gathering which the students found interesting.


 At the end of the programme the students actively involved themselves in discussing with the police officers about traffic awareness and road safety.  
The school authorities thanked the A& N Traffic Police Department for the kind initiative of educating the students and teachers about road safety and traffic rules.

Janmashtami

 Janmashtami celebration in VKV, Lambaline
The Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadon. This day indicated the beginning of hope in the older times; hope, that the malicious rule of Kansa would soon end. 


To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, and to celebrate the extraordinary bond between children and the Almighty, Janmashtami was celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lambaline, Port Blair on 19th August 2022 with mirth and joy. The chief guest for the program was swami Shudhanand Saraswathiji Maharaj, Acharya Chinmaya Mission was greeted by Sri Vijayakumar, Principal, V. K.V Port Blair. The fragrance of flowers, the soothing aroma of Agarbathi, and the jingle of bells filled the air in the assembly hall. This day signifies a lot more to the tiny tots of the school. It signifies excitement, delight, and a joyous spirit of enthrallment. To jubilate and to learn the spirit of the young minds, the fancy dress competition was held. The students dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha, with flutes, peacock feathers, and matkas, presented instances from Lord Krishna's life.


 The main attraction of the event was the dance competition. The premise was filled with the spirit of festivity with the music and joy during the dance competition. The life history of Lord Krishna was very beautifully depicted in each group dance. The purpose of the flamboyant celebration is to inculcate the traditional value and respect for culture in the students. The celebration was truly entertaining and educating.



The parents had a great time watching their kids taking part in various competitions. The chief guest of the program swami Shudhanand Saraswathiji Maharaj, Acharya Chinmaya Mission blessed all the students on this auspicious day and gave the prizes to the winners and the participants. 


His words truly summed up the effectiveness of celebrating festivals of devotion and esteem towards their parents. The vote of thanks was proposed by Shri.S. Subhash, HM( Pry). The program concluded with the Shanti mantra. Prasad was distributed at the end of the program.

Independence Day Celebration

India celebrates its 75th Independence Day as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotshav’ to commemorate its freedom. 15th August 2022. The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with due respect at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lambaline, Port Blair. The School was decorated with colourful festoons and fenced with seating arrangements. Students, staff members, and parents were present for the occasion.   

Shri S.Vijayakumar, the principal of the school hoisted the National flag. With due solemnity, the national anthem was sung. The students saluted the flag with the flag song. Palak Biswas of class IV A,  spoke on the significance of the day.
The students of the primary wing sang the Patriotic song that awakened everyone’s feelings toward our Mother Land. Nandini Verma ( Class VII) spoke on the importance of the day. 



 

Ganesh Mishra of class VII through the patriotic song Desh mere insisted that nothing in this world is more important than motherland. The value and the greatness of the motherland were presented through the song Hey janma bhumi Bharat sung by the senior secondary wing students. 


 


While addressing the audience Sri S.Vijayakumar the Principal of the school, paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of freedom. He focused on the contribution and sacrifice of the freedom fighters. He reminded the younger generation's responsibility to the Nation by quoting many great patriots' lives.


 The Programme concluded with the Shanti mantra. Sweets were distributed to all at the end of the program.

MATRU POOJA FOR CLASS X STUDENTS

Matru Pooja was organized in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair for the students of Class X on 20th April 2022. Students of class X attended the same with their parents. Students of Class IX welcomed them in traditional manner. As per the instruction, all participants washed their Mothers feet and applied Chandan and Kumkum.


The pooja was conducted by offering flowers and chanting the sacred mantras. The students worshipped their mother and took their blessings. 


Shri S Vijayakumar,( Principal) addressed the students and parents. He clarified the students about the value of unconditional love of mothers. He advised the students to consider their mothers as the living goddess. He also praised the mothers as the essential part in the family and the society. He congratulated the students who participated in the pooja. With the blessings of almighty, parents and teachers students of Class X collected their admit cards for the AISSE 2022 from the Head of the Institution after the pooja. 

 

At the end of the programme prizes and certificates were awarded for the winners of various competitions held in the current session.

CELEBRATION OF VIDYARAMBHAM

Vidyarambham ceremony for the students of KG I ( 2022-23 ) was held in VKV, Portblair  on 7th April 2022. 71 students with their parents attended the ceremony . 

 


 Vidyarambham pooja started at 8.30 a..m with welcome address by Shri. S Vijayakumar (Principal ). It was an enthralling moment when the Vidyarambham was started, Small tiny tots were blessed to start Education by their parents and teachers  present on the occasion. 


It was followed by mesmerising Bhajans. Prasad was distributed at the end of the Pooja, . parents and students cherished the auspiciousness of the day, especially on the first day of school.Program concluded with students group photography at 10:30am.

Report on the awareness camp on Alcohol and Drug Abuse conducted on 8th March 2022

An awareness program on the ill effects of Alcohol and Drug  abuse was conducted by Social Welfare department and health department on 8 March 2022 in VKV Port Blair. 

Dr. Naveen Govind Nodal officer, DHS Health Department illustrated on the ill effects of Alcoholism and Drug addiction. 

Mr V M Roy Nodal Officer, Mr Yousuf Health Educators, Smt Kanchan Supervisor ICDC, advised students to be aware about how it  has got spread in the society and to be away from it. Mr R Prem Kumar Nodal officer, Prohibition, Social Welfare interacted with students and answered all their queries. 


He insisted students to be cautions with the ill effects of Alcoholism and Drugs and be aware from it to be good  to family society and country. The program was highly informative and useful to all.

An interaction session with Dr. Pratibha Athavale, Dentist, Social Worker and Writer

 Report on visit of Dr. Pratibha Athavale and Smt. Anita Thambe

VKV PORT BLAIR: An interaction session with Dr. Pratibha Athavale, Dentist, Social Worker and Writer and Smt. Anita Thambe was held in the school assemnly hall on 26th February, 2022. 66 students with 37 teaching staffs were present for the programme. The program started with Manglacharan. 


Dr. Archana Gupta , Vice Principal of VKV Port Blair, presented the welcome address.


Dr. Pratibha Athavale briefed about the physical hygiene. She also highlighted the menstrual cycle and reproductory system in women's / girls' body. She explained the importance of healthy diet day-to-day life.


She emphasized on how to be physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally strong. Then she briefed about the importance of education and also advised to take care of their teeth. At last, she answered the questions raised by the students and teachers.


The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra.

Report on visit of Dr. Marda Ganashyam Madangopal, Research officer, Ayurveda Research Institute, Pune

VKV Port Blair : An interaction session with Dr. Marda Ghanashyam Madangopal, Research officer, Ayurveda Research Institute, Pune was held in the School on 23 February 2022. 145 students with 20 teachers were present in the program. The program started with Manglacharan. The school Principal S. Vijayakumar presented the welcome address. Dr. Marda Ghanashyam Madangopal,  highlighted the importance of having healthy food and healthy life style to have good life.



He suggested the daily routine and food habits needs to follow for maintaining good health. Further he clarified the queries regarding health issues and habits from the participants. The programe concluded with vote of thanks by Smt  Archana Gupta ( Vice Principal) and Shanti Mantra.

Republic Day Celebration

 26 January 2022

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair, celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with immense patriotic fervour and zeal in the school campus. Varsha didi the Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Andamans, Shri Vijayakumar Principal of VKV, Port Blair, Smt (Dr) Archana Gupta Vice-Principal with 43 teachers were present on the occasion. This program was facilitated through the online platform to enable students to participate in the program. A plethora of activities was organised to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among the students.

The teachers of the school presented soulful Bharath Mata ki Aarti and flowers were offered to pay tribute to Bharat Mata and to celebrate this monumental day. 


 The School Principal, Shri S Vijayakumar inspired the gathering with his motivational words and told all students to remember the great legends and to abide by the constitution of their motherland to fulfil all their duties as responsible citizens. The program concluded with the rendition of the Shanti Mantra followed by a video on the National War Memorial.

Celebrating Parakram Diwas/ Netaji Jayanti

In order to honour and remember Netaji's indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation, the government decided to celebrate his birthday on the 23rd day of January every year as Parakram Diwas to inspire people of this country, especially the youth, to act with fortitude in the face of adversity as Netaji did.


This year is the 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.  To honour and remember Netaji’s indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation, here is 👆a small presentation from the VKV family.

अमृत परिवार कार्यक्रम 


कक्षा छठवीं से आठवीं कक्षा के विद्यार्थियों के अभिभावको के लिए विवेकानंद केंद्र के, अखिल भारतीय उपाध्यक्ष माननीय श्री हनुमंत  राव जी के साथ , दिनाँक 6  जनवरी 2022  को विवेकानंद केंद्र विद्यालय लम्बा लाइन के परिसर मे, एक "पारस्परिक कार्यक्रम" का आयोजन किया गया, जिसे "अमृत  - परिवार " का नाम दिया गया। इस कार्यक्रम मे विद्यालय के प्रधानाचार्य, श्री एस विजय कुमार, सचिव सुश्री वर्षा बुजोंणे और वर्त्तमान मे पोर्टब्लेयर सम्पर्क स्थान संगठक  का दायितत्व निभा रही, सुश्री प्रियम्वदा दीदी उपस्थित थी। 

                                     

कार्यक्रम का शुभारम्भ, मंगलाचरण से हुआ साथ ही उपस्थित सभी गणमान्यों का परिचय अभिभावकों  साथ कराया गया, प्रधानाचार्य, श्री एस. विजय कुमार जी द्वारा उपस्थिति का स्वागत किया गया।  इस कार्यक्रम मे, माननीय श्री हनुमंत राव जी ने "समर्थ भारत पर्व", "सनातन धर्म", "पंच - यज्ञ" और "अमृत परिवार" विषयों से संबंधति जानकारियाँ दी और अपने विचार उपस्थिति के साथ साझा किए  जिसके बाद उपस्थिति द्वारा पूछे गए प्रश्न एवं शंकाओ का समाधान, श्री हनुमंत राव जी द्वारा किया गया।  





                     






सुश्री प्रियम्वदा दीदी द्वारा विवेकानंद केंद्र परिचय प्रस्तुत किया गया साथ ही वरिष्ठ कक्षा के छात्राओं द्वारा देशभक्ति गीत भी प्रस्तुत किया गया।  श्री आर वेणुगोपाल जी द्वारा उपस्थिति का धन्यावाद ज्ञापन किया  गया। कार्यक्रम की समाप्ति शांति मंत्र से की गई।
