38th ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

The 38th Annual Sports Meet of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram, was held on 29 November 2025 in the school premises with great enthusiasm and excitement. Shri Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, South Andaman, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. 

The programme began with a warm Welcome Address by the Principal of the school. The Chief Guest declared the Sports Meet open, followed by a spectacular March Past by the four houses of the school. The chief guest in his inspiring address, he appreciated the efforts of the students, teachers, and school management. He also motivated the students to participate actively in sports and games for their physical and mental development.

Various cultural displays such as Action song, Rhythmic Yoga, Lezim, Dance, Aerobics, Umbrella Drill, Mallakhamb and other group performances were presented by students from Class I to VIII, which captivated the audience.

A number of track and field events were conducted for the students of Balvatika to Class XII. All participants showed true sportsmanship and competitive spirit throughout the events.

Prizes and medals were awarded to the winners by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour, Col. K. Yudheshwar Singh, Commanding Officer, 1 (A&N), Independent Coy NCC. In his motivating address, he encouraged the students to take part actively in sports and also spoke about the inspiring messages of Swami Vivekananda. Lance Naik Albert Ekka House received a trophy for the best performance in the sports events.  The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Vice Principal, VKV Sri Vijaya Puram. Altogether more than 700 students, more than 150 parents, 7 Alumni, 56 teaching and non-teaching staff were present on this occasion. The event concluded with the National Anthem.

Overall, the event was a grand success and provided the students with an excellent platform to showcase their talents in sports and cultural activities.

ASTHRA 2025 – ART, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & HANDICRAFT RESEARCH ACTIVITES

On the occasion of Sadhana Diwas, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram conducted ASTHRA 2025 – Art and Science Exhibition on 19 November 2025 in the school premises. Smti. Archana Singh, Deputy Director Education (Planning), Andaman and Nicobar Administration, graced the event as the Chief Guest. She appreciated the talent, efforts, culture, and spiritual values showcased by the students and teachers.

Teachers from various schools served as judges for the exhibition. The esteemed panel included:

All judges praised the creativity, scientific outlook, and hard work of the students, along with the strong support provided by the school management.

A total of 220 models were exhibited by students:

EVS (Primary): 25 

Mathematics: 23 (Primary)

English: 11 (Primary)

Science: 102 (VI–XI)

Mathematics: 24 (VI–XI)

Social Science: 14 (VI–X)

English: 6 (VI–XI)

Hindi: 15 (I–X)

Additionally, 15 special guests from Manipur visited the exhibition to witness the exhibits. They highly appreciated the talent, creativity, and discipline of the students of VKV Sri Vijaya Puram.

Altogether, 60 teaching & non-teaching staff, more than 700 students, and over 400 parents attended the event.

The exhibition also featured the launch of a rap song on "Nasha Mukt Bharat" by Anshika Hawalader of Class VIII-A. The link for the song is given:

The event concluded successfully, celebrating innovation, creativity, and holistic learning among students.

UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY CELEBRATION

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram, celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 13th September 2025 with great  enthusiasm and reverence. The occasion commemorated the historic speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.

The celebration began with lighting the traditional lamp and Manglacharan  followed by Welcome Address by the Principal. The students of Class VI and VII  presented a graceful Invocation Dance, setting a devotional tone to the programme.

The highlight of the event was the Chicago Address, presented by Kumari Palak Biswas of Class VII, echoing the immortal words of Swami Vivekananda. After this, the students presented a melodious song on Swami Vivekananda, followed by a skit by the Class XI students depicting two small incidents from Swamiji’s life that highlighted equality and selfless service.

 

 

This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the Chief Guest, Shri Debdas Paik, awarded the prizes to winners of various inter-school competitions- drawing and patriotic songs.  In his address, Shri Paik emphasized the significance of Universal Brotherhood Day and Swamiji’s vision of unity and harmony.

As the programme continued, Saanvi Chand of Class XI delivered a Hindi speech on “Swami Vivekananda – Adhunik Samay ke Margdarshak.” The students of class IX presented  a beautiful devotional song, "Raghuvara"  filling the atmosphere with serenity.

Prizes for other competitions-group songs, folk dance and skit-were distributed by the Special Guest,  Mananeeya Hanumantha Rao Ji. In his speech, he spoke about the richness of Indian culture and the timeless messages and speeches of Swami Vivekananda,  and love towards our nation  and highlighted the ideals of Swami Vivekananda stressing the importance of cultivating the spirit of universal brotherhood in today’s times. A vibrant folk of Dhakla, Gujarat performed  by the students of the Vidyalaya added colour and liveliness to the celebration.

The programme concluded with Vote of Thanks delivered by the Vice Principal followed by  Shanti Mantra.

The event was graced by 6 teachers & 10  prize winning students from other schools and around 150 students  56  teachers from VKV making the celebration truly memorable and inspiring.
