GURU PURNIMA, TOPPER'S FELICITATION & COMMENCEMENT OF THE GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram, celebrated Guru Purnima, Topper's Felicitation, and the Commencement of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations (1977–2027) on 29th July 2026 with great devotion and enthusiasm.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by an invocation. A meaningful skit depicting the Guru-Shishya relationship between Swami Vivekananda and Sister Nivedita was presented, highlighting the importance of a teacher's guidance in shaping students' lives.

The function was graced by Pujya Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati, Acharya, Chinmaya Mission, as the Chief Guest, and Smt. Meera Nambiar, SFS, Deputy Director, Biological Park, Chidiyatapu, and an alumna of the 1989 batch, as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries inspired the students with their enlightening addresses on values, discipline, gratitude, and excellence.

During the Topper's Felicitation Ceremony, 13 students of Class X and 7 students of Class XII were honoured for their outstanding academic performance. 

The Centum Awards were presented to:

Gokula Krishna (Class X) – Science

N. Uday (Class X) – Information Technology (IT)

B. Triti (Class XII) – Chemistry

M.Bhuvaneshwari (Class XII) – IP

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. A total of 33 parents, 15 alumni, 25 teachers, and 253 students of Classes X to XII were present to grace the occasion, making it a memorable celebration of gratitude, achievement, and the school's rich legacy.

The programme also marked the official launch of the school's Golden Jubilee Celebrations, commemorating 50 glorious years of dedicated service in the field of education.

The Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Alumni Association organised a Tree Plantation Ceremony on 29th July 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at the ANIIMS Campus, Carbyn's Cove.

The ceremony was held with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to environmental conservation. 17 Alumni from different batches, along with the school heads and members of the Management Committee, came together to commemorate this memorable milestone by planting saplings, symbolising growth, unity, gratitude, and a lasting connection with their alma mater.

The gathering reflected the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and the vision of Vivekananda Kendra towards protecting nature and building a responsible society. The participants pledged to nurture the planted saplings and contribute towards creating a greener and healthier environment for future generations.

The Tree Plantation Ceremony was a meaningful tribute to the school's Golden Jubilee, leaving behind a living legacy of hope, service, and sustainability. It also strengthened the bond among the alumni, school leadership, and the Management Committee while reaffirming their commitment to the motto of Vivekananda Kendra—"Man Making and Nation Building."
