TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION

The Teacher’s Day celebration at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Port Blair, organized by the students of Class XII, took place on 5th September 2024 with great enthusiasm. The program commenced with Smt. Manju Singh’s insightful speech on the greatness of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, highlighting his contributions to education and the importance of this day.

In the morning session, students took on the roles of teachers, gaining firsthand experience and understanding the value of the teaching profession. This activity fostered a deeper respect for teachers and their responsibilities.


The afternoon session was filled with vibrant cultural performances presented by the students, adding to the festive atmosphere. Students and teachers then shared a delightful lunch together, further strengthening the bond between them.

The event concluded with much appreciation from all attendees. Both the performances and the collaborative spirit were praised, making the day a memorable one for everyone involved.

KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION

Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great fervor at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair, on 26th August 2024. The program began with a solemn Mangalacharan, setting a spiritual tone for the event. Smt. Shiny Mohan, the Vice-Principal, delivered the welcome address, expressing the significance of the occasion. The cultural festivities were highlighted by two solo bhajans, performed by Yashi V C and Vihaas IV A, respectively, which captivated the audience with their devotion and melody.

Smt. K. Shanti, teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya port Blair delivered a speech that enriched the gathering with her insights on the teachings of Lord Krishna. The Chief Guest, Sanyasini Chaitanya Anandamayi from Pranob Kanya Sangh, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of spiritual growth in education.






The event also featured a Fancy Dress Competition for Balvatika students and a Devotional Dance Competition for primary students, judged by Smti Dhalia Banerjee, Smti Anuradha Mishra, and Smti Sujata Chakraborty. Outstanding students were honored during the prize distribution ceremony. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Subhash, Headmaster, followed by the recitation of the Shanti Mantra.

RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION

Raksha Bandhan, a festival celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters, was joyfully celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lamba Line, Port Blair on 19.08.2024. The event brought together students and staff in a warm and festive atmosphere, emphasizing the importance of love, care, and responsibility between siblings.

The celebration began with a special assembly where the significance of Raksha Bandhan was explained, highlighting its cultural and traditional importance in Indian society. Students presented songs and speeches. Speech by the teacher explained the values associated with Raksha Bandhan, such as unity, protection, and respect.

A key highlight of the event was the tying of Rakhi, a sacred thread, by the girls on the wrists of the boys, symbolizing their prayers for their brothers' well-being and the brothers' vows to protect their sisters. The boys, in turn, gave sweets to their sisters, further strengthening the bond of affection between them.

The school also made different teams with guide teachers to tie Rakhi's at different organizations such as Raj Niwas, Secretariat, D.C Office, G B Pant Hospital, Seva Niketan, Ayush Hospital, ICMR Dolly Gunj and Ramakrishna Mission. This fostered a sense of community and teamwork among the students.




Teachers at VKV Lamba Line took the opportunity to discuss the broader implications of Raksha Bandhan, encouraging students to extend the values of protection and care beyond their families to society at large. The event concluded with sweets being distributed to all, symbolizing the sweetness of the sibling relationship.

INDEPENDENCE DAY


The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair on August 15, 2024. Principal Smt. Jaya Sivasankaran hoisted the National Flag, followed by students singing the National Anthem and Flag Song. Students then saluted the flag, took the pledge, and delivered speeches in Hindi and English, reflecting on the day's significance. Primary, secondary, and higher secondary students presented songs that embodied the spirit of Independence Day. In her address, the principal highlighted the sacrifices of freedom fighters and urged students to honor their legacy by serving the nation with dedication and fostering patriotism and unity.
